Happy Holi!

Green: copper sulphate -which may cause allergies in eye or even temporary blindness.
Purple: chromium iodide - which may cause bronchial asthma or other forms of allergy.
Silver: aluminum bromide - a known carcinogenic.
Black: lead oxide - may cause renal failures or learning disability.
Red: mercury sulphite - may cause skin cancer or Minamata disease (mental retardation, paralysis, impaired vision...)

Shiny colours are a result of powdered glass being added to the colours!

So here is how you make colours using natural, harmless ingredients.

If you click on the link you'll know that this is hardly practical ... and most of them sound like they'll smell terrible anyway. No colours on me please!

Drink your Bhang responsibly.

Happy Holi!
